Read the specification, not just the colour
Copy the pipe markings or the description from your installer’s material list. Record material, nominal size, pressure or series designation where given, and the connection style. Include a photograph of accessible markings if you email the business; the website does not upload photos.
Build the list around the whole connection
- Application: drinking water, irrigation, drainage or wastewater.
- Existing components: exact pipe markings and the fitting being replaced.
- Connection: socket, threaded, gasketed or another specified joint.
- Layout: a simple labelled sketch, with changes of direction and branch points.
- Quantities: separate straight lengths, elbows, tees, reducers and adapters.
- Supporting materials: ask the installer which jointing products and supports are required.
Plan before excavating
Arrange utility information through BC 1 Call and confirm private services with the responsible parties before digging. A utility request is one part of the locate process; do not assume it identifies every private line.
